BED 2 IN CE RANCH
The entire site extends over approximately 11,000 acres and is shown in the aerial photograph. The four bauxite residue storage areas (referred to as Beds, 1, 2, 3 and 4) cover approximately 3100 acres.
CE Ranch is a working ranch that includes wetlands, ponds, grasslands and impoundments that hold bauxite residue, a byproduct from a former alumina refinery. The 11,000 acre ranch was previously part of the Sherwin Alumina refinery that operated 62 years and was acquired by Copano Enterprises in 2018.
This website was created to keep community members informed of actions Copano Enterprises is taking to ensure the safe management of the impoundments for the protection of human health and the environment.
